✅ WARRANTY & SERVICE POLICY – BikesGOM.com

This Warranty & Service Policy explains the warranty coverage for products purchased from BikesGOM, as well as the procedure for repairs, service and replacement.

All products sold by BikesGOM are brand new, original, and covered by both:

✔ EU Legal Guarantee — 2 years

✔ Manufacturer’s commercial warranty (varies by brand)

1. EU Legal Guarantee (2 Years)

Under European Union law (Directive 2019/771), all consumers are entitled to a minimum 2-year warranty for new products purchased online.

This warranty covers:

✔ manufacturing defects
✔ material defects
✔ non-conformities present at the time of delivery

If a defect appears within 2 years, BikesGOM will:

  • repair the product, or

  • replace it, or

  • offer a price reduction, or

  • provide a refund (only if repair/replacement is impossible)

The appropriate solution is chosen based on EU and Spanish consumer rights regulations.

2. Manufacturer Warranty

Many e-bike and bicycle brands offer additional commercial warranties, such as:

  • extended warranty on frames (5–10 years or lifetime)

  • warranty on motors

  • warranty on batteries

  • warranty on specific components

Coverage differs depending on the brand.

Examples (varies by manufacturer):

  • Frame: 5–10 years

  • Fork: 2 years

  • Motor: 2 years

  • Battery: 2 years or limited charge cycles

  • Components: 1–2 years

The exact manufacturer warranty will be stated in the product documentation or brand website.

3. What is Covered

The warranty covers:

✔ manufacturing defects
✔ defects in materials
✔ electrical or mechanical faults
✔ motor/controller failures
✔ battery issues not caused by misuse
✔ premature structural failure of components

4. What is NOT Covered

The warranty does not cover:

❌ normal wear and tear (brake pads, chains, tires, grips, etc.)
❌ accidents, crashes or impact damage
❌ incorrect assembly if not done by a professional
❌ water damage (unless stated as waterproof by the manufacturer)
❌ misuse or abusive riding
❌ modifications or alterations
❌ lack of maintenance
❌ using non-original parts or accessories
❌ damage caused by overloading
❌ cosmetic damage (scratches, paint chips, etc.)

Wear & tear parts include:

  • brake pads

  • tires & tubes

  • chains & cassettes

  • bulbs

  • bearings

  • spokes

  • grips & saddles

These items wear naturally and must be replaced periodically.

5. Warranty Procedure

To file a warranty claim:

Step 1 – Contact Us

Email: office@BikesGOM.com


Include:

  • order number

  • bike model

  • description of the issue

  • photos or videos showing the defect

Step 2 – Assessment

We will assess the issue based on:

  • photos/videos

  • error codes (for e-bike systems)

  • manufacturer guidelines

If necessary, we may request the product to be sent in for inspection.

Step 3 – Repair, Replacement or Solution

If the issue is covered by warranty:

✔ we repair the product, or
✔ replace the defective part, or
✔ replace the entire product
✔ or offer a price reduction if repair is not possible

Repairs are done by authorized technicians.

6. Battery & Motor Warranty (E-Bikes)

E-bike batteries and motors are subject to special conditions:

Battery Warranty:

  • 2 years manufacturer warranty

  • Must be charged and stored correctly

  • Natural capacity loss over time is normal and not a defect
    (Example: battery loses 10–20% capacity after 500–800 cycles)

Motor Warranty:

  • 2 years manufacturer warranty

  • Must not be opened, tampered with, or modified

Use of tuning devices (speed unlockers) voids the warranty.

7. Service & Maintenance

Proper maintenance is required to preserve warranty.

Recommended service schedule:

  • First tune-up: 150–300 km

  • Regular service: every 6 months

  • Brake service: every 300–500 km

  • Chain lubrication: every 100–150 km

Repairs done by non-professionals may void the warranty.

8. Warranty for International Orders

Warranty is valid worldwide, but:

  • shipping costs may vary

  • some manufacturers require service through local distributors

  • replacement parts availability may vary by region

We will guide you through the process depending on your country.

9. Return Shipping for Warranty Repairs

If the defect is confirmed under warranty:

✔ shipping costs are covered by BikesGOM

If the inspection shows the issue is not warranty-related:

❌ shipping costs back to the customer may apply
❌ repair fees may apply

We always inform the customer before proceeding.

10. Out-of-Warranty Repairs

We offer paid repairs for:

  • accidental damage

  • wear & tear

  • expired warranty

You will receive a quote before any work is done.
